Hi,

I'm new to this board and i don't know if this is the right place to post this, i stumbled across this website because i post on the JREF forum and looked at one of the threads on visionfromfeeling. It reminded me of a girl named Natasha Demkina (also known as the girl with the x-ray eyes). I saw a progamme about her on TV here in the UK, i wonder if this woman Anita Ikonen has also heard of this girl. Although the claims are a little different from each other the general idea is the same, could Natasha Demkina have inspired Anita? I read somewhere that she took on the signs/symptoms/ideas of the savant Daniel Tammet.

I also write here because as a person with a diagnosed personality disorder it worries me that she says on her website that she doesn't think she is mentally ill because she doesn't 'feel' mentally ill. Well i can say from experience that the 20 years i went undiagnosed i didn't 'feel' mentally ill either, but my behaviour was quite the opposite! I have what is called Borderline Personality Disorder (with mild bipolar) and i'm taking antipsychotic drugs to help and i am under the care of both a psychiatrist and psychiatric nurse.

I say all this because as a person with mental health issues, it worries me greatly that this woman who is clearly mentally ill is not having treatment, i went through hell while i was undiagnosed and would hope that nobody else would have to go through the same thing, has any effort been made by anyone (school/friends) to contact her family? Could the police do anything as she is clearly a danger in my opinion, what if she tells some poor pregnant woman that there is something wrong with her unborn child?

I'm sorry for the long post and if its the wrong place to say these things but i feel that the JREF is not taking this issue seriously enough!

Hey, Folks!

I have updated just about every page on the website and added a new page outlining the history of Anita's missing kidney claim. I've also added a few new blog entries that I think you'll find interesting. Reading responses on the JREF Forums inspired me to make some updates because there's still too much misinformaiton and too many forgotten details.

I also "pinned" a number of threads in the forums in an effort to give new visitors a place to start. If you think there are other threads worthy of being pinned, just reply in that thread, and tell me. I'll see it.

If you spot any spelling errors or other mistakes, please shoot me a message and let me know. It's hard editing my own stuff the same night I write it!

July 5 2010 update: Demonstration Statistics

As the demonstration is still in its design stages, the statistics of the demonstration have now been assigned. I will not reveal the numbers yet, until my testing organization is ready to make the announcement, but I would like to say that the statistics of this demonstration are too low to qualify this event as a test. If my results in this demonstration are all fully correct, the statistics are still too low to provide evidence toward the claim, therefore this demonstration can under no results verify the claim due to insufficient test subjects and low statistics.

Why? Well, because if I produce the correct answers in this demonstration, somebody might as well have done that just by guessing, and a large enough number of random guessers would be predicted to make the same fully accurate answers. That is why if I am fully accurate in this demonstration, there is no way here to distinguish between the use of some skill, or the average guesser's luck.

It's been fun to take part in the rumours over at the JREF Forum about whether Annie's demonstration is the seekrit MDC Challenge Event scheduled for the last day of TAM8, but srsly, it's a bit difficult to believe that any credible sceptical organisation would entertain the idea of involving itself with the clot that wrote the above nonsense, let alone the JREF.

Vision From Feeling - new forum, 'coming soon'

It appears from Anita's homepage that she has a new forum on the way.

What's the betting Anita manages to get a forum up and running a damn sight quicker than she ever managed to provide the raw data from her studies?

It must be driving her mad that she has no communication with any of her beloved skeptics.

Of course interestingly her forum could end up attracting overall a less skeptical crowd than the JREF. It will be interesting to see how Anita behaves towards the believers.

Will she express herself as the hardcore science and evidence-based skeptic she claims to be? Which wil risk scaring them away?

Or will she put her skeptical tendencies 'on hold' to encourage the attention she may well get from the less skeptical-minded?

Should be entertaining.
