I'm going to start a new thread just to see how long it takes to get moderated.

I won't be engaging with Anita directly this on this go around the mulberry bush, I have ADD and get bored easily.

At least one, and apparently a few of the moderators are stupid enough to fall for her innocent little kid act.

And I predict that even though people have been disciplined for discussing her insane magical migraine healing claims outside of the moderated thread created just for the purpose, the current thread will be allowed to go on. Well, at least until she posts some of her mentally ill crap and people actually have the honesty to point out that's what it is. Then it'll get moderated to protect her from all the skeptic meanies.

This is an extremely important observation.

I may be one of the gang here, but I'm still kinda new. Or naive. I was truly shocked when Anita started posting on again JREF about her migraine nonsense, and even more shocked when people engaged her and even helped her.

What happened to kidney pie? Why isn't that her strongest claim anymore? How about diaphragm vision? Or the accosting-people-in-the-park thing she was going to do? Or menstrual period peering? Or the million other things she claims she can do? Where and when does it stop? And why does she expect everyone to forget the past?

I know there are mental illnesses that are cyclic, though I don't know much about them. But Anita's behavior does appear cyclic, and it appears there are cycles with in cycles.

She was a breatharian for a while, and that seems to have run its course. Now she's cycled onto health information and vibrational algebra and whatever else, and she'll post cyclically and design tests and whatever.

Then I bet she'll cycle onto the next special ability she claims to have that will make her special and worthy of attention. It won't be something mundane like tarot cards or crystals; it will be something abstruse and recherche, like phrenology or the ability to touch an object and know everything about its owner.

And remember, we talk only about the things we know about. It took several years for the Breatharian bullshit to come out. Who knows what she's doing that we don't know about? It's frightening to contemplate.

This is a woman who flew to LA to butt into someone else's psychic challenge and then scammed the entry fee off some unsuspecting IIG member. I sure wouldn't want to be a lonely elderly man in her area. Too risky.

I'd like to favor the withdrawal of attention to her, but I think that would be irresponsible. While anyone who talks to her is wasting their time,  people who talk about her are performing a public service.

Too many desperate people have been taken advantage of by smiling, friendly, mildly attractive people who offer help. I think the JREF comes close to abetting her by letting her post uncontested and treating her like fine china. I am also certain that she gets this treatment because she is a young, marginally attractive woman who, unlike other scammers and true believers, babbles on about being a skeptic and a woo. Ebony and ivory it ain't, but I guess some people like the sound of it.

UncaYimmy said once he'd rather go home with her at closing time than pick up a copy of Swank. Well, if I were a guy, I'd go with the Swank. Less costly and less creepy.

Anita is genuinely and truly dangerous. She's a larval Brent Atwater. She has to be stopped.

For three weeks, anyway. She's been suspended again. I reported her for her attack on LightInDarkness' academic credentials. I think Anita thought her attack would get the thread moderated, but, apparently, Darat's patience might be running thin.

(Not really sure why GeeMack was suspended, though?)

BTW, UY, she appears to be targeting yet another migraine group. She's linked to it a couple of times. I can't find the link right now-it's in her recent posts on the JREF - perhaps a friendly warning to the admins of that group might be in order?

I don't think talking about her is wrong, since it is usually in the context of debunking her nonsense and stopping others from buying into it. I'm just finding, looking back over the past year and a half, that interacting WITH her accomplishes nothing more than encouraging her delusions and attention seeking. She's like a child that way - the more she gets to repeat her crap, the more she believes it and the more gratification she soaks up from the attention.

It seems more productive to talk around Anita than to talk to her.

Because I have the nerve to actually suggest in no ambiguous terms that one of the legitimate mundane explanations for her sociopathic behavior is mental illness. Unfortunately the JREF maintains a policy of allowing only limited skepticism. If thorough skepticism offends the crybabies, it's against the rules.

I received my first infraction for this comment to VfF's post. I've PM'd Darat for clarification. What is really odd is that my infracted post was not moved to AAH but one post I had only put the "roll eyes smiley" was. My only post is in yellow. It will be interesting to see if Darat replies.
