The natural rebuttal to this is that she "hides" these beliefs or at least the depths of these beliefs from others, therefore she knows they are not real. That's nonsense. I'm an atheist, but I don't go around telling people even when given the opportunity. It's just not worth the aggravation. Likewise, many religious people keep those things private. I worked with a guy for 7 years before learning that this well educated, intelligent, logical computer programmer was a creationist. She can be "sane" enough to realize that her beliefs could make her life miserable if made public and still be severely delusional.

For want of a better analogy, think of the delusional reality like music from an iPod. For some of the people in her life, Anita will plug in speakers so they can hear it, too. For those she knows won't like the music, she can put the ear buds in and just listen to themusic in her head. But the music is always playing, regardless.

She'll only acknowledge reality as much as she needs to, and she avoids needing to as much as she can.

I know of only one disorder where the subject absolutely cannot differentiate reality from fantasy, and that is schizophrenia-and I've never seen any indication that Anita is schizophrenic.

Although, apparently, I am.

I've been guilty of calling Anita a fraud in the past, and I still believe that-but in the literal meaning of the word. She's convinced herself that she exists in a reality that is, in truth, fraudulent. BUT she is indifferent to whether people believe her or not. If they do, great-that validates her delusional reality. If they don't, she's going to continue to believe herself anyway.  Her main goal in relating her tales is  to fuel her narcissism, not to get people to believe her. She's like someone who  composes mediocre music, but hears only a masterpiece, and continually listens to the compositions so they can pat themsleves om the back and revel in how extraordinarily gifted they are.

I agree with AC over shy Anita got so defensive about Alenara. I do think there's more to that story and why she dropped that persona. I'll do some research later.

What you say makes sense, I just find it hard to believe that she somehow manages to get through uni, being the whackjob she is.
I am waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I believe it will-probably not during her undergraduate studies, but her behavior will affect her chances of getting into graduate school and/or her employment prospects. As UY and many others have pointed out, it's ridiculous that Anita believes that employers and college admission personnel don't perform due diligence on applicants, with the Internet at their fingertips. And, as Ness36 pointed out on the JREF forum, employment in the scientific field is difficult to obtain. She's lessening her chances with every word she types.

It's ironic that Anita has convinced herself that people keep telling her this to hinder or insult her in some way. She's driving herself off a cliff with her self destructive tunnel vision.

Jasuhmeen, who I am well aware of - she is a fraudster from Brisbane and was exposed for the scammer and liar she is on national television.

I may be wrong, but didn't a couple of people die as a result of following her "Breatharian" gospel crap?

If so, Anita sure knows how to pick her heroes. That Arcturian guy in NC who was nothing but a grifter-I seem to recall that he had been indicted for fraud before he died - and a nut who ducks responsibiltity for advising people to practice something that ended up killing them.

Alenara is a beautiful twenty-year girl with fair hair and blue eyes. She is completely different from her peers who sit in pubs, work at McDonalds, and pass the time at the the disco. She looks at individuals and sees their past, their  problems, and advises them about what they need to do to solve them.

When Alenara says something, it's hard not to notice that it has a hypnotic effect on listeners. One of the participants in the course remarked: "For the first time I met someone...Alenara is unusual. When she says that the future will be a lot more spiritual, I know it's true. The ages of materialism and technology will end, and more spiritual beings like Alenara will live among us."

In seminars, Alenara tells people that life is possible without eating. She hasbeen preparing for several years for "Niejedzących", the time when all beings will be sustained by the "living light" .

I found it difficult to digest food, and I decided to stop eating meat . After some time, I found that I am less and less hungry. On their courses Alenara also tells about UFOs, which she depicts in the context of disaster movies.
 

"The world and the universe are very friendly to us. But somehow we do not want to see this, " she smiles. "I myself have no doubt that the earth is observed by other civilizations. I received from them a lot of telepathic communication. I learned that for several coming years, we face natural disasters: hurricanes and floods. ETA: Let's see if I have this traight:  Anita has repeatedly claimed that she is undertaking her 'scientific' investigation to understand what her ability is...ESP, synesthesia, cold reading, etc. But,. according to Alenara, she already knows it is paranormal, because it is an ability that she possessed on "Tel Maar" and brought here to Earth before she was incarnated as Anita Ikonen. Am I getting that right, or did I misunderstand something along the way?

Another version of 'Alenara's' breatharian beginnings. This wasn't posted by Alenara, but by "JMW" - the Joachim M. Werdin mentioned in the article Farencue posted. It is *signed* by "Alenara", though. In this one, she offers no paranormal or incarnation babble speak-but she does note that exploring breathanarism 'scientifically' led her to the belief that 'humans don't need to eat'. 

I started out as the average eater. Eating without the slightest knowledge of what food does. A few years ago, grilled meat changed this forever. Eating it made me feel heavy, dizzy and horrible. I noticed that food had impact on the body, so I stopped eating the things that had been making me feel bad.

But people criticized me for being different in terms of eating. Not even food experts or doctors could explain it or give me acceptance of living this way. I had to defend myself, so I turned to books and other resources and started to research.

In the meantime I tried all ways of eating I could find. Any varieties of vegetarianism, veganism, raw foods, fruitarianism ... Nothing felt like the true human diet. Intuitively feeling my way and scientifically studying about nourishment, physiology etc., lead me to the same conclusion: humans don't need to eat!

But when to stop eating and how? There were always a set of 'rules' or limitations with preparation, such as fruitarianism for some time followed by fasting for some time etc. I tried them all, still not finding the true method. But still under the pressure of people not accepting my eating ways, I gave food one last try. I gave all food items a serious try, ate anything I was curious of, and devoted myself to this. If eating was the source of human life, I now surely would discover it. But it made me bored of eating. Additionally, I found that people saw me for the foods I ate or didn't eat and no one thought of me as a person, so protesting that people saw food and not me, I gave up on postponing the non-eating with its various preparations, and simply stopped eating.

I have no hunger or thirst. If you ask what keeps me alive, I say it's me. I never think of foods, cook, or have cravings for food. If I did, I would eat, and that's why I don't need to eat. Sometimes I can taste some foods (ice-cream or fruit juices), and then keep it in the mouth for a long time until it is dissolved and the food then has no impact on my stomach or body. Although currently I eat proteins (chicken, fish, peanuts) about twice a week because I enjoy the strong feeling it gives which is beyond the human natural state which results from absolute non-eating. (I like to feel slightly stronger than what is in my natural physiology. With food we can change ourselves.)

Life without food is easy. It gives such freedom. You never have to eat, but also you can eat if you want to. But best of all, it makes you an independent, self-sustaining person with a great feeling of self, and nothing, not even food, can make you forget about yourself anymore. When you constantly feel the life of who you are, you see that you need no life from the outside (such as foods).
